OptiBerry® – Science Meets Natural Nutrition

(WFN) Label reading has become a fine art these days. Whether in the super market or health food store, people are reading labels as if they were studying a school text. And it’s a good thing to because the more educated the public is about what they eat and drink the healthier they will become. But it’s not always easy to know what these labels really mean. There are so many scientific terms and chemical names on the average vitamin label you have to be a chemist or a clinical dietician to know what they all are.

One new name I read on my vitamin package recently was OptiBerry®. Fortunately, we do know a clinical dietician and so we asked Michelle Bacarella to explain to us the benefits of this all-natural formula. Here’s what she told us:

OptiBerry® is a standardized, multiple berry anthocyanin extract formulated and tested for optimum safety, bioavailability, antioxidant and anti-angiogenic (the ability to reduce unwanted growth of blood vessels, which may lead to varicose veins and tumor formation) activity. OptiBerry® contains a unique, proprietary blend of wild blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, wild bilberry, elderberry and raspberry extracts (patent-pending), which are known for their health-promoting properties due to their high content of anthocyanins.

OK, thanks Michelle! What she really means to say is that OptiBerry® is made from real fruits and has amazing anti-oxidant properties and can help with a range of illnesses and ailments. The nutritional value of fruit is well documented. The USDA recommends 4 cups of fruit and vegetables every day, with a focus on eating more fruits. Strawberries alone are rated by the USDA as one of the premiere power foods based on a new antioxidant studies. The high concentration of vitamin and mineral extracts from fruits in OptiBerry®makes it a fantastic way to get all the nutrients you need from one source.

What does OptiBerry® do?

  • Promotes healthy brain function and mental clarity
  • Promotes healthy vision
  • Promotes cardiovascular health
  • Promotes healthy skin
  • Promotes urinary tract health
  • Promotes healthy blood sugar levels
  • Helps prevent the effects of premature aging

OptiBerry®is the result of extensive scientific research, which methodically evaluated key functional parameters, including ORAC (antioxidant activity), VEGF (anti-angiogenic activity), bioavailability and safety of numerous individual berry extracts. Based on these findings, more than 20 combinations of individual berry extracts were formulated and evaluated to determine the safest and most efficacious combination. Of the combinations tested, one stood out above all others, OptiBerry®, a proprietary blend of wild blueberry, strawberry, cranberry, wild bilberry, elderberry and raspberry seed extracts, which demonstrated superior safety, bioavailability, antioxidant and anti-angiogenic activity. Again, to see the value of this formula look at the chart below.
